Landing in public relations began with my training to become a concert pianist at an early age. Years of lessons, performances, and teaching my own students led me to believe that music was my default career. While studying music at BYU, I became frustrated because I felt like I wasn’t reaching my full potential. After reflecting on my professional desires and abilities, I researched different industries and the types of people that work in them. Through this process, I found communications to be the only field that touched on my qualifications and goals. I immediately enrolled in the “Intro to PR” class… it was love at first sight. PR challenges my creativity, teaches me to use strategic thinking on a daily basis, and allows me to use my highly-developed social media skills. I am excited to learn all that I can and contribute to the industry.
